ETF Trends’ Max Chen covers the launch of ProShares Online Retail ETF (ONLN), a new strategy that exclusively focuses on retailers that principally sell online or through other non-store channels. The fund “rounds out” the suite of e-commerce products that includes the ProShares Decline of the Retail Store ETF (EMTY) and the ProShares Long Online/Short Stores ETF (CLIX), both of which take short positions in bricks-and-mortar retailers. Chen notes that 10% of global retail sales are online, which leaves “an e-commerce-centric strategy further room for growth.” He quotes Michael Sapir, who says “investors can now get exposure to Amazon, Alibaba, and other global leaders in online retail with a single ticker: ONLN.” See ONLN holdings.
