The Dow Jones U.S. Basic Materials Index measures the performance of the basic materials economic sector of the U.S. equity market. Component companies are involved in the production of aluminum, commodity chemicals, specialty chemicals, forest products, non-ferrous metals, paper products, precious metals and steel. It is not possible to invest directly in an index.
