Senior Marketing Communications Manager, Senior Writer


Position Summary

The Senior Marketing Communications Manager will be responsible for writing clear, concise and persuasive copy for a variety of projects, including financial professional and investor collateral, presentations, direct mail, newsletters, articles, white papers, sales ideas, and campaigns.



Primary Responsibilities

  1. Develop content that supports ProFunds and ProShares sales and marketing communications strategies and messages to financial professionals and investors across various media types (print, web, presentations).
  2. Research, fact-check and proofread for spelling, grammar and consistency of positioning.
  3. Responsible for helping maintain consistency of message and corporate brand across channels and products.
  4. Assist marketing managers in bridging comments and ideas from marketing, sales, portfolio, management and compliance.
  5. Collaborate with internal clients while working closely with VP of Marketing Communications and Art Director to bring projects to timely completion.
  6. Repackaging of pre-existing content will be required.
  7. Guide and manage outside writers when appropriate.



Education and Experience

  1. BA/BS degree with a minimum of 8 years experience in marketing and copy development. Prefer experience in financial services industry.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of financial markets and mutual funds/investments.
  3. Familiarity with FINRA advertising regulations preferred.
  4. Experience in transforming complex financial concepts into clear, concise written communications without losing key messages.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Highly developed writing skills for print and electronic media required.
  2. The ability to grasp and then translate investment concepts into understandable and exciting prose essential.
  3. Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work well in teams.
  4. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  5. Attention to detail and ability to be self-directed.
  6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and PowerPoint.

Deliverables, Success Measurements:

Initial 12-month period:
  • Clearly demonstrates the understanding of ProFunds and ProShares products and target audiences, as well as their stylistic differences
  • Projects completed on schedule and free of errors
  • Initiated a library of evergreen articles on various investment topics
  • Expanded message boxes to specific ProFunds
  • Developed web site content for both investor and financial professional web sites
  • Collaborated with Marketing Managers on quarterly campaigns and direct mail pieces
  • Established respected relationships and leadership within the marketing department
