Project Manager, Data Warehouse
Position Summary
This position will lead internal and external systems development projects through the entire life cycle of a project (requirements gathering, design, specification writing, and implementation) with an emphasis on data warehouse applications.
Essential Job Functions 1:
- Work with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify and define development projects in support of data warehouse system
- Define project technical requirements to include architecture.
- Plan and manage development projects to include project planning and costs estimating.
- Make recommendations to management team with regards to prioritizing projects and advising on how projects fit into corporate enterprise architecture.
- Oversight of technology vendor relationships.
- Ensure corporate technology standards and methodologies are documented and followed.
- Perform systems analysis, write functional and detailed design specifications, oversee work performed by software development vendors, acceptance testing, and implementation. Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in computer science or finance coupled with 10 or more years experience in systems development for financial services industry.
- Five or more years project management experience with emphasis on data warehouse systems development.
- Ten or more years experience.
- Mutual fund industry experience strongly preferred.
Education and Experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills.
- Experience with project management tools and formal project management techniques.
- Experience with structured design methodologies.
- Good organizational skills. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Ability to work in a time sensitive environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word and Access.
- Ability to manage, set goals for, and develop staff.
