Portfolio Analyst
Position Summary
Assist the ProShares Portfolio Management Team in the daily management and repositioning of ETF and Mutual Fund portfolios. Duties may encompass administrative, support and operational tasks, investment performance analyses, and/or portfolio management and trading related functions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform, assist or supervise a variety of portfolio operations tasks including:
- Daily reconciliation of shareholder activity.
- Daily reconciliation of fund holdings with fund custodian and/or fund accounting records.
- Daily reconciliation of trading activity with DTC/Omgeo electronic confirmations.
- Archiving and storage of electronic and paper documents.
- Confirm and reconcile daily trading activity with brokers and FCMs.
- Reporting daily trading activity to fund accountant and custodian.
- Other reconciliation and maintenance functions as needed.
- Administrative functions such as filing, copying and mailing as needed.
- Periodic review of performance data included in various regulatory filings and marketing materials.
- Complete required paper work and maintain required records.
- Provide administrative coordination between portfolio management, trading, operations, fund accounting, fund custodian and other areas.
- Capture, maintain and/or input data to facilitate the portfolio management and trading function. Perform analytics pertaining to ProShares, competitors and benchmarks. Data and analyses will revolve around fund and index performance, transaction costs, and asset flows. Perform other investment performance analysis as needed.
- Conduct limited research projects.
- Monitor, report, and assist in implementing index changes and corporate actions.
- Monitor and report on the proxy-voting process.
- Assist is resolving clearance and settlement issues
- Communicate and effect trading decisions made by the portfolio manager with broker-dealers either telephonically or electronically or through a variety of electronic trading platforms.
- Obtain familiarity with the portfolio management and trading systems and strategies utilized by the Team.
Education and Experience
- Undergraduate degree required. Finance, Economics, Math, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- One to three years related experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Requires extreme attention to detail.
- Requires strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Understanding of financial derivatives including futures, options, and swaps are a plus.
