Marketing Planning Director
Position Summary
Proactively identifies, proposes, and executes marketing and communications projects. Builds strong partnerships with internal and external clients. Manages key steps of marketing processes (e.g., , identifying needs, establishing positioning strategies and goals, generating ideas, developing plans, preparing marketing tactics and initiatives, outlining content/messages.)

- Works with strategy team and distribution channels to identify marketing opportunities. Develops and manages implementation of plans to provide effective, timely marketing efforts around new products, promotions, and investor education with priorities as determined by marketing senior management. Ensures effective coordination of all marketing activities.
- Identifies, proposes and executes marketing initiatives for assigned projects. Prepares quarterly marketing plans for distribution channels.
- Writes effective, clear plans and proposals. Obtains all required approvals and feedback for proposed plans, schedules and budgets before execution of projects, and coordinates activity with members of the marketing staff.
- Acts as liaison between marketing, strategy and distribution, from upfront information gathering through review process.
- Responsible for marketing deliverable quality and deadlines. Provides marketing units with detailed messaging, content outlines and research. Manages flow among marketing units.
- Closes out deliverables to leave marketing department, e.g. implements program or publishes content, communicates with sales and coordinates recordkeeping.
- Complies with established company, department and compliance systems and procedures to review materials and content and keep them up-to-date with current compliance practices.
- Assumes responsibility for budget development and expenditures for assigned projects and programs.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in marketing, communications, finance, or equivalent experience.
- Ten or more years securities industry experience with an emphasis on marketing communications program development, planning and project management.
- FINRA Series 6 license required within 90 days of employment.

- Experience in managing a marketing communications development process – strong creative management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to develop effective recommendations and plans. Strong critical thinking and creative skills.
- Proven ability to build consensus for recommended ideas and projects and work effectively across all levels of an organization (inc: peers, clients and management).
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Experience in utilizing metrics and analyzing marketing research to drive business results – strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
